UNZA Vet School develops Marburg virus testing kit

RESEARCHERS at the University of Zambia’s (UNZA) School of Veterinary Medicine in conjunction with international research partners have developed a rapid diagnosis kit for the detection of the Marburg (MVD), a disease caused by viruses from the same family that cause the Ebola virus (EVD).
The researchers developed the rapid kit in conjunction with their counterparts at the international Institute Centre for Zoonosis Control, Hokkaido University and Denka Company Limited in Japan.
