ZAMBIA has signed two financing agreements with the European Union (EU), amounting to €110 million.
Education Minister Douglas Syakalima signed on the country’s behalf, while EU Commissioner for International Partnership, Jutta Urpilainen signed for the EU in Brussels, Belgium at a global gateway high -level event on education.
“The two agreements include financing for social reforms, amounting to a €60 million budget support programme aimed at improving access, quality, equity and inclusiveness in primary and secondary education and support to public financial management, while the other agreement is on equal chances for human development amounting to 50 million Euros and is aimed at holistically improving early childhood education and development with focus on the Luapula and North Western provinces,” reads a statement issued by First Press secretary at the Zambian mission in Brussels, Hambaya Munang’andu.
