UK resolute on £2.5bn pledge

THE United Kingdom (UK) is resolute to actualise £2.5 billion pledged private sector investments in the Zambian mining sector.
British High Commissioner to Zambia Sarah Bloom said during the official opening of Prospero Limited Open Day in Kitwe yesterday, that so far UK companies had made around £1.5 billion investments in the Zambian mining sector.
“In 2020, the UK signed a green growth compact agreement during the Cop26 which was resigned in 2022 with a commitment to mobilise £2.5 billion private sector investments in the Zambian mining sector with about £1.5 billion already actualised,” Ms Bloom said.
