WOMEN International Master (WIM) Lorita Mwango (below) is happy with the World Chess Federation (FIDE) support to players who will travel with their infants to the 45th Chess Olympiads.
The FIDE commission for women’s chess announced this new initiative focused on supporting professional players going through motherhood as they compete at the Olympiads.
“This is a great move. Being a mother and not being able to afford to cover costs for an accompanying person to look after your baby or even cover travelling costs for you is sad and discouraging. We love our sport and this makes our chess lives easier. It means we can travel and play worry free,” she said
