THE number of used cars exported from Japan to Africa increased from 300,000 units in 2022 to 360,000 in 2023 with Zambia accounting for about 24,000, the Japanese authorities have disclosed.
Japan attributed the increase in exports of used cars to Africa to the continued depreciation of the Japanese Yen on the foreign exchange market.
The Japanese government said in 2023 a total of 360,000 used cars were exported to Africa as compared to the 303,000 cars exported in 2022, giving a difference of 57,000 units.
