ZRA decries low tax compliance levels

THE Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) says compliance levels among the country’s big and small taxpayers has been falling since 2017.
ZRA Commissioner General Dingani Banda says the level of compliance for big taxpayers has reduced from 78 per cent in 2017 to 40 per cent last year for big taxpayers.
Mr Banda said of the K100 billion gross revenue collected by the authority last year, 80 per cent was contributed by only 891 taxpayers out of the 529 008 total taxpayer population.
