THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) says it received 1, 037 suspected corruption reports and seized assets or properties worth more than K750 million, last year.
Of the 1, 037 reports, 463 were non-corruption related, 574 contained elements of corruption, 541 were authorised for investigations, 11 were referred to relevant institutions for actions, eight authorised for Corruption Prevention Exercise, two complaints were not authorised while 12 were still under deliberation.
Addressing a media briefing in Lusaka yesterday, ACC head of corporate communications Timothy Moono said the commission closed 183 investigation cases, recorded 38 arrests, 17 convictions and five acquittals in 2023.
