Germany sets aside K14.3m for cholera fight

THE German government in cooperation with the United Nations International Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has allocated K14.3 million to combat cholera. The German government is focusing on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives in the epicentres of Lusaka.
In a statement yesterday, the embassy said the financial support would cover the procurement of chemicals for water treatment at collection points, distribution of critical hygiene supplies, and reinforcement of intensified water quality monitoring and hygiene sensitisation efforts.
