PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has warned Public Service workers, whose emoluments account for 42 per cent of the National Budget, that they risk facing consequences if they do not perform to the citizens’ expectations.
President Hichilema challenged Public Service workers, who included permanent secretaries, to resign if they were not willing to work for the people.
President Hichilema said this in Lusaka when he addressed permanent secretaries and other senior Government officers during a meeting on measures to improve programme implementation in the Public Service yesterday.
