THE oral cholera vaccination will commence immediately in the Lusaka hotspots of Kanyama, Chawama and Matero townships.
This comes after the United Nations officially handed over 1.4 million doses of the oral cholera vaccine in Lusaka yesterday.
Health Minister Sylvia Masebo said the administering of the vaccines was selective as they were not enough to cater for everyone, hence targeting the cholera hotspots.
Ms Masebo said the vaccines would be given to anyone in the epicentres from one year and above.
She assured that the vaccines had been tested and declared fit for use in Zambia.
