GOVERNMENT has with immediate effect banned public gatherings and has ordered the closure of restaurants and bars in Kanyama, Matero and George townships, which are the cholera hotspots in the city of Lusaka. This is in a bid to stem the spread of cholera in the capital city.
According to a Statutory Instrument (SI) Number Five of 2024 signed yesterday by Health Minister Sylvia Masebo, weddings, funerals, church gathering, and other public gatherings and processions were prohibited.
