THE final results for the eighth population and housing census conducted in 2022 by the Zambia Statistics Agency (ZamStats) has indicated that the country’s total population currently stands at more than 19.6 million with females constituting 51 per cent of the population.
ZamStats statistician general Mulenga Musepa said during a Press briefing to disseminate the monthly bulletin that the population census revealed that of the 19,693,423 population, 10,036,163 were females while 9,657,260 were males.
