PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema is today expected at Sensele mine in Chingola on an on-spot check of the site of a tragic underground mine accident where 31 illegal miners remain trapped, five days after the tunnels they were working caved in due to heavy flooding.
The status of the trapped miners is still not known as rescuers using mechanised excavators and industrial water pumps have worked non-stop to try and unblock the tunnels and pump out silt and water in the hope of locating and retrieving them alive.
