AfCTA tells African nations: Trade as one

THE African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) has urged African countries to trade as one, to change the economic position of the continent.
AfCFTA Secretary General Wamkele Mene said the organisation was a large market with a combined Gross Democratic Product (GDP) of US$6.7 trillion at purchasing power parity.
He said this made the AfCFTA the fourth largest economy in the world, with intra-Africa trade at 28.4 per cent with a total population of 1.47 billion.
