‘Lack of awareness delaying AfCFTA implementation’

THE African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) has observed that lack of clear domestication of trade agreements and awareness are some of the challenges delaying the implementation of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
ACBF Executive Secretary Mamadou Biteye said 55 African Union (AU) member states have signed the trade agreement but not all of them had rectified the deals.
Mr Biteye said even those that rectified have not started the process of domestication which was the reform of national laws.
