THE Government has highlighted the importance of value addition to the Zambia’s raw materials if significant exploitation of initiatives such as the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) is to be successful and play a role in steering economic growth.
Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Chipoka Mulenga said although the country’s revenue from AGOA had increased from $2 million to over $130 million, Zambia was not reaping the maximum benefits of the initiative due to low industrialisation.
