THE just-ended Extra-Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), has mandated President Hakainde Hichilema to support the Chairperson of SADC to intensify the diplomatic efforts between the DRC and Rwanda to bring lasting peace in the DRC.
According to the Communiqué released after the summit, the leaders expressed concern at the deterioration of the security and humanitarian situation in the Eastern DRC highlighting the reported resumption of attacks and occupation of the territory by the M23, a clear violation of the cease-fire.
