13 drivers race for points in international rally

THE Zambia International Motor Rally today revs-off in Lusaka with 13 drives getting to the start line to race for African and Zambian points as well as the flag.
The race is coming after a long-running stand-off between the Zambia Motor Sports Association (ZMSA) and its affiliates in Ndola over administrative disputes.
The hosting of the super special stage at Lusaka’s showgrounds should come as a big relief to the Sam Ching’ambu-led ZMSA executive after they came close to calling off the Zambian leg of the Africa rally Championship.
Ching’ambu confirmed yesterday that everything was set for the exciting super special stage which he said would be competitive.
