THE Citizen Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) has extended the period for submission of application forms for the 2014 empowerment loans from February 28 to March 14, 2014.
This will allow those who have not applied for the empowerment loans to have more time to prepare their applications.
CEEC head of public relations and communications Glenda Masebe said the commission had extended the period for submission of application forms for 2014 from February 28 to March 14, 2014.
In a statement issued in Lusaka, Ms Masebe said: “The Commission has extended the submission period to allow targeted Citizens wishing to undertake investment projects more time to prepare their applications.”
“The general public is advised that application forms can be obtained from the respective district local authority, the district agricultural coordinator (DACO) and also from the CEEC provincial offices, the CEEC head office and at the website,” she said.
Ms Masebe explained that the Commission launched the new strategy in line with the rural industrialisation strategy of the Ministry of Commerce Trade and Industry, to provide businesses loans to targeted citizens and companies for the development of specific industries based on the comparative advantage of the various provinces of Zambia.
The Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission is a body corporate established through the enactment of the Citizens Economic Empowerment Act Number 9 of 2006 to foster broad-based economic empowerment.
