As southerners celebrated the Beene Mukuni traditional ceremony in Livingstone yesterday, President Hakainde Hichilema in his remarks when he graced the occasion, reiterated his call for national unity by calling on customary leaders to effectively use tradition, culture and heritage to unite Zambia.
President Hichilema, who won last year’s general election on a platform of beating toxic tribalism and generally sour mood across the country, said the different ethnic groups that the country is endowed with must take the lead in promoting unity in diversity.
