ZAMBIA women’s team coach Bruce Mwape says qualification to the FIFA 2023 World Cup will be achieved when least expected.
Having already made history when he qualified the team to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Mwape says his next target is to qualify the team to the Australia/New Zealand 2023 World Cup with a good performance at the Morocco 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
“Qualifying for the World Cup is my area of concentration and it will be another record and all I can say is that I am working on it. What we want is to qualify. History will be made when no one is expecting it….No one expected us to go to the Olympics or that we could beat Cameroon. It is our P1 and we want to qualify,” Mwape said in an interview here.
