‘Zambia’s agro environment positive’

FIRST National Bank (FNB) says Zambia’s agriculture environment is positive due to improved pricing on offer across all key commodities.
In its Agri-Business monthly report, FNB says the agricultural environment remains a positive one as a result of improved pricing on offer across all key commodities such as soya beans, maize and wheat.
It stated that the maize marketing policy in its current state meant maize was poised to have a typical year with slightly depressed prices, in the current year; it was an improved price but does not meet producers’ expectation compared to the cost of production.
