Muchinga authorities studying 7 cases of acute paralysis in children

HEALTH authorities in Muchinga Province have isolated seven cases of acute paralysis in children found in four districts and are studying the case to rule out wild-polio, detected in Malawi. Provincial health director Nero Chilembo said the cases have been recorded in Mpika of Central Province, Nakonde, Mafinga and Shiwang’andu of Muchinga Province. Zambia’s provinces sharing the border with Malawi are on high alert after wild polio was noted in the neighbouring country.
