THE price for tomatoes has recorded a major increase at Copperbelt’s largest fresh produce market, Nakadoli in recent days.
A box of tomatoes which dropped to a low K30 has made drastic movement to K280 per box due to low supply of the commodity as the bad weather for ‘red gold’ intensifies.
Other price movers are the increased demand in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and changes to the fuel pump prices.
Former Kitwe Fresh Produce association secretary Alex Talanti said the price of tomatoes had made a sharp high turn in recent days.
