‘Economic hardships depress tax collection’

THE Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) has said the economic hardships characterised by high inflation, financial volatility among others are still eminent and will continue to weigh down on the country’s ability to collect tax.
ZICA secretary and chief executive Anthony Bwembya says for the past seven years, Zambia’s economy has been characterised by high inflation, financial volatility, job cuts and other economic hardships coupled with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
