THE road sector is in an annual maintenance funding gap of more than US$550 million, a scenario which has resulted in the failure to attain projects such as the Lusaka-400 (L-400), the government has said.
Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Permanent Secretary Danny Mfune said on average, the country required $720million annually to maintain the core road network and bring it to maintainable standards.
