THE marauding fall armyworm has extended its raid in Central Province with nearly 1,300 hectares of fields and 1,670 farmers in seven districts have now been affected. All the crops planted this farming season in Mumbwa district have been wiped out while the situation is not any better in Luano, Serenje, Mkushi, Chibombo, Kapiri Mposhi and Ngabwe districts. Central Province Permanent Secretary Milner Mwanakampwe said the pest had invaded more than 1250.7 hectares of land affecting a total of 1,670 farmers in the region.
