Zambia records drop in COVID positivity rate

ZAMBIA has this week recorded some reduction in the Coronavirus (COVID-19) positivity rate from a national average of above 30 per cent in the previous weeks to below 25 per cent. Despite the surge in the actual number of new cases since the country recorded the fourth wave, the positivity has dropped with the latest being 23 per cent posted yesterday. That was after recording 2,305 new cases from the 10,207 latest tests conducted.
Sadly, five deaths were recorded with three of them being classified as COVID-19 deaths and two as COVID-19 associated deaths.
