MEALIE-Meal prices have dropped on the local market due to low demand and appreciation of the Kwacha against the United States Dollar. The appreciation of Kwacha has resulted in the country losing the export market grip, the Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ ) has said. MAZ president Andrew Chintala said in an interview that the price of maize on the export market had lost value due to appreciation of the local currency from K22 to around K15 per United States Dollar making the product unprofitable.
