Comatose hospital, school projects disappoint Lungu

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has said he is disappointed that construction of the Ikelenge district hospital and a secondary school in North-Western Province have stalled. The hospital project stalled because the contractor that was engaged to carry the works failed to deliver. The contractor Assesco Limited started the works on the project whose initial cost was K12.9 million, in 2015 and was expected to conclude the undertaking in 2018 but the works were still at 49 per cent completion rate since the contractor left the site in 2019.
