Local oil hauliers claim they’re ignored

LOCAL transporters have expressed concern on non-compliance of the Statutory Instrument (SI) number 35 of 2021 reservation for local transporters by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and Government suppliers.
The SI set aside a quota of transport business for the Zambian citizens prescribed under the Citizens Economic and Empowerment Commission (CEEC) Act. No.9 of 2006.
Transporters Association of Zambia (PTAZ) Benson Tembo said the categories of business houses which included Logistics, OMC, Government suppliers and mines were not following the law.
