A STUDY into how married couples in Eastern Province perceive money shows that more women than men keep their earnings to themselves rather than save as a couple.
According to a financial study into decision-making, gender and social norms in Zambia, more wives than husbands of Eastern Province are willing to compromise household finances so that they can hold on to their income individually.
The report was done by the Centre for Decision Research and Experimental Economics based at the School of Economics at the University of Nottingham in collaboration with African Studies Centre and the Financial Sector Deepening Zambia.
