RELATIVE calm has returned to Zambia due to team work and cooperation, leading to reduction in chemical spraying and riotous incidents, with more than 560 suspects apprehended countrywide so far for mob justice, Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja has said.
Mr Kanganja said the great strides recorded were an indication that security wings were closing in on the perpetrators involved in the wave of lawlessness that had gripped the country in the recent past.
He said that the lawlessness resulted in the death of more than 50 people due to instant mob justice.
Mr Kanganja said during the commemoration of Zambia Police Day in Lusaka that as at Tuesday, 566 suspects had been arrested and apprehended countrywide for various offences.
