PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has urged defence personnel to maintain professionalism and avoid taking part in partisan politics.
Mr Lungu said in Kabwe yesterday defence service officers had the mandate to be professional for them to diligently serve the nation, warning that officers found taking part in politics would be asked to leave the military.
“Yes, you have the right to vote but you have to be non-partisan. You have to be loyal to the Government of the day. Therefore, if anyone of you is found to be politically affiliated you will be asked to part company,” he said.
