THE Government has deferred the introduction of General Sales Tax from April 1 to July 1, 2019 with Parliament being told that the new regime will save the Treasury K17 billion in Value-Added-Tax (VAT) refunds.
Meanwhile, the Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) has cautioned government against further delay in implementing the Sales Tax while the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) says there is anxiety in the economic sector on the new tax.
