A NDOLA housewife has allegedly killed her husband after a dispute with her stepson over who should cook nshima.
The woman asked her 22-year-old stepson to cook nshima but he refused and she poured hot water on him before turning to her husband.
The incident happened on Sunday night around 22:00 hours.
Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga who confirmed the killing said Evelyn Kwanza, 29, of Kabushi township killed her husband Amon Mbuzi, 49. She has since been arrested.
She said after the woman poured hot water on her stepson he rushed to the police to report the incident and when he returned home he found his father lying on the floor unconscious.
“Austin Mbuzi had earlier gone to police to report his stepmother who had become annoyed with him for not preparing nshima which she later asked his sister to prepare,” she said.
Ms Katanga said when Austin returned home, he found his father lying dead on the ground and when he inquired from his sister, he was told the father had been beaten with a metal bar and a plank.
She said the body of the deceased was immediately taken to the hospital where he was certified dead.
Ms Katanga said when the body was taken to the hospital it was inspected and he had sustained a cut at the back of the head.
