Sunzu with wife, Gift.

ZAMBIA and Metz defender Stoppila Sunzu spent a night in French jail after a domestic violence ensued between his wife, Gift, and his pregnant girlfriend.
Family sources told the TIMES that Gift was not very impressed when she learnt that her husband had scored away from home.
The source said she followed up the issue with Sunzu’s girlfriend where a fight broke out.
“Stoppila impregnated a girlfriend in France and Gift is not happy about it. She followed her and it got bad,” the source said the case ended up with the ex-Konkola Blades defender spending the night in jail.
The source added that Gift later withdrew the case and Sunzu was released on those grounds.
And to show that all was well, Sunzu yesterday posted a picture on his Facebook Page where he was pictured with the wife.
Meanwhile, French publication Republican Lorrain, reported that the 2012 Africa Cup winner, was arrested by police on Thursday and charged with alleged domestic violence.
Sunzu, 29, was released Friday morning and could only make the bench for his club in their 2-1 loss at home to Clermont on Friday evening.
The publication further wrote that Sunzu’s version of the events was that he was attempting to stop an altercation between his wife and another woman.
Metz did not comment on the incident and did not indicate if they would take action but did say they will follow the police investigations closely.
It is understood that Sunzu’s wife filed the complaint which was then withdrawn.
