ROAN Member of Parliament (MP) Chishimba Kambwili and his 11 co-accused have pleaded not guilty to one charge of unlawful assembly before a Luanshya Magistrate’s Court.
Mr Kambwili and two others were later released on bail after meeting the conditions.
When the matter came before Ndola Principal Resident Magistrate Obister Musukwa who sat in Luanshya, Mr Kambwili said he understood the charge but denied committing the offence.
After plea one of Mr Kambwili’s lawyers Christopher Mundia applied for bail for all the accused and Mr Musukwa granted the suspects K30,000 bail in their own recognisance with two working sureties.
Magistrate Musukwa said he had taken note of the application and observed that the prosecution had not objected.
Mr Kambwili and his co-accused are represented by five lawyers.
The matter was adjourned to December 14, 2018 for mention and trial would take place next year from February 11 to 14.
