Buffaloes 2 Eagles 0
GREEN Buffaloes shot to the summit of the MTN-FAZ Super League after defeating Green Eagles in the Week Six encounter in Lusaka.
Buffaloes moved to 16 points, three better than Zesco United in second who beat Power Dynamos in Ndola. Both Zesco and Power are on 13 points but Zesco are ahead only on goal difference.
Coach Bilton Musonda said his team will not relax and will continue pushing in order to win the league.
“It is early for us to be happy but at least it gives us a boost as we fight for the title which is very competitive,” he said.
And Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi conceded defeat and the home side was the better of the two.
“We just have to pull ourselves up and focus on our next encounter,” Chiyangi said.
Buffaloes took the lead 15 into the first half when Chilimba Moonga free kick beat the the stranded Eagles goalkeeper Robert Mwanza in goal against the run of play.
The home side doubled the lead in the 87th minute when substitute Friday Samu connected with Morgan Kanjolo clearance from outside the box to make sure of the points.
Zesco 2 Power 1
DEFENDING champions Zesco United came from a goal down to beat Power Dynamos thanks to a Lazarous Kambole brace in the second half reports NDINAWE SIMPELWE from Levy Mwanawasa Stadium
While Zesco preserved their unbeaten start to the season and moved to second on the table with 13 points, Power suffered its first defeat and dropped to third with the same number of points.
It was a game of two halves as the visitors dominated the first half where goalkeeper Joshua Titima was the hero while Zesco came back stronger after the break to grab all three points.
Power deservedly took the lead through Kelvin Kampamba who calmly finished off a low cross from Reagan Nguy who had beaten Fackson Kapumbu on the left.
With incoming Zesco coach George Lwandamina watching from the terraces, Zesco players were eager not to disappoint, as they stepped up the gear with Kambole getting his first in the 50th minute from a seemingly offside position.
Kambole secured the points for Zesco in the 65th minute after getting on to a Ching’andu through ball before beating an advancing Titima and slotting into an empty net.
Lumwana 0 Nkana 2
In Kalumbila of North-Western Province, Bornwell Mwape and Idris Mbombo scored a goal each in each half before Allan Kapila added the third to help the Beston Chambeshi coached Nkana to bounce back to winning ways reports RONALD CHAWE.
Under pressure Nkana opened the scores in 36th minute through Mwape, who nodded in Ronald Kampamba’s cross before Mbombo doubled the advantage in the 76th minute.
Lumwana, who had clear cut chances which they failed to put away in the early exchanges saw their chances of coming back into the game diminish when their skipper Kapila turned Walter Bwalya’s effort into his own net with seven minutes remaining to play.
A win helped the Kitwe based out-fit to move to 10 points while the Zeddy Saileti tutored side remained stuck on five points in six matches.
Warriors 1 Dynamos 0
Emmanuel Okutu scored the only goal of the hotly contested match to propel Kabwe Warriors to their third win of the season which sent them fifth with11 points reports SYLVESTER MWALE from Godfrey Chitalu Stadium.
The Nigerian nodded in from industrious Laison Thole from the left wing to send the fully packed stadium into wild celebrations and ease the pressure on coach Tenant Chilumba.
It was an entertaining match with Lusaka Dynamos showing their pressing game and good combination, particularly between Collins Sikombe and Chris Mugalu.
It was a similar story with the railway men who managed to create a number of chances but Nelson Maziwisa, Okutu and Nkonko Heritier were guilty of missing good opportunities in the first half.
Dynamos substitute Mugabi Yassen was set up by a brilliant cross from captain Cletus Chama in the opening stages of second half but the forward chose to head over with the goal gapping.

THE Elijah Chikwada factor took effect at troubled Napsa Stars yesterday as they came from two goals down to share spoils with this expensively assembled Ndola side, writes Godfrey Dube from Sunset Stadium.
Clifton Miheso put Buildon ahead with a well struck free kick from the edge of the box on four minutes with Fahad Aziz doubling the lead in the 20th minute to give Tenant Chembo a dream start to this game.
But they were pegged back in the 24th minute when Simon Nkhata struck after a series of passes inside the box for a 2-1 half-time score.
Simon Nkhata completed his brace in the 63rd to force a draw after tapping in an Aron Kabwe cross inside the box to see Napsa score more goals in this game than they have scored in the previous five games put together.
Swallows 0 Forest 1
Forest Rangers jumped into the top half of the table after taking this vital away win off promotion side New Monze Swallows.
Forward Kobe Chipeta struck in the 44th minute to get his second goal in as many games and give this Perry Mutapa side a second straight win and confirm their recovery after suffering an unjust walkover defeat to Nkana.
The wins raises Forest to ninth on the table with nine points from the five games while Monze Swallows continue searching for their first win in the league.
Nakambala 1 Arrows 0
Red Arrows yesterday fell to their second defeat of the season, also their second on the trot to a Nakambala side that won its third straight home game this term.
Kasalo Kabole, son to legendary coach Fordson, struck the all-important goal in the second minute to take Patrick Phiri’s side to eighth on the table with nine points and thrust Arrows 10th on the table with eight points.
