THE Football Association of Zambia has summoned football administratorSimataa Simataa and three others to appear before its Ethics and Integrity Committee on Tuesday for allegedly disrespecting the association.
And FAZ has announced that it will call for an Extraordinary CouncilMeeting where the findings of the FIFA Forensic Audit on the association will be tabled.
According to documents obtained by the Times Sports, FAZ has summoned Simataa, former FAZ executive member Pivoty Simwanza, Nkana Football Club chairman Evaristo Kabila and journalist Augustine Mukoka to appear before its Ethics and Integrity Committee for allegedly circulating the association’s documents that were obtained illegally.
“You have been circulating illegally obtained documents from the FAZ secretariat on social media and to various institutions with intent todiscredit the FAZ executive members and officials of the association and this bring the name of the association into disrespect,” read FAZ’s statement signed by Ethics and Integrity Committee chairpersonKephas Katongo to Simataa.
FAZ last week banned expelled FAZ executive member Blackwell Siwale together with two football administrators Damiano Mutale and KelvinChipili for the same offence.
Katongo warned that should the summoned people fail to appear on April 24 this year,judgment would be passed in their absence.
FAZ has been under increased attacks after documents were leaked whichrevealed hefty allowances were paid to executive members during the hosting of both the Under-20 Africa Cup and the Under-20 CosafaCup.
Siwale and Simataa presented the same leaked documents to theAnti-Corruption Commission for investigations.
But in response to the summon, Simataa posted in one of the social media groups that he and Mukoka were not under the FIFA code of ethicsand could not be summoned.
“Both Augustine and I, are not under the FIFA code of ethics. We are not officials or players or match and player agents. Tell them (FAZ) to read Article 2 of the same code they quote,” Simataa stated.
According to the letters to both Simataa and Mukoka, the duo wereaddressed as Mtendere Football Club members.
Meanwhile FAZ Deputy General Secretary Adrian Kashala said theassociation will hold an Extra-ordinary General Meeting (EGM) to table findings ofthe FIFA forensic audit.
“FAZ has requested FIFA to carry out a Forensic Audit for the period2012 to 2017 to ascertain FAZ revenue and expenditure which may nothave been accounted for including the recently unauthorised circulatedfinancial documents,” the statement read in part.
Kashala stated that the association is committed to ensure transparencyand accountability is upheld in the running of the sport.
