Konkola 0-154 Arrows
NATIONAL Rugby League (NRL) champions Red Arrows may be without four players away with the Zambia 7s team in Australia for the Commonwealth Games but that did not stop them from posting the heaviest win this season.
In this Week-Four game played in Chililabombwe, the Mwamba Chishimba side plundered in 24 tries and converted 17 of them to earn a bonus point and move to 15 points.
But that did not shake-off rivals Lusaka, who thumped Ndola United 26-5 at Yotam Muleya Grounds in Lusaka to earn bonus points and also move to 15 points.
‘Powerhouse’ Lusaka posted four tries-one each from Katele Kashitu, Isaac Munganga, Peter Mazotwe and Mwale Sika, three of which were converted by Jackson Nkhoma.
Ndola, who are on nine points, could only get an unconverted try by Chimuka Tembo.
Mufulira-B 9-11 Diggers
‘Men-at-Work’ Diggers took advantage of an out-of-action duo of Nkwazi and Kitwe Playing Fields (KPF) to sneak into the third position with 13 points after humbling Mufulira-B in this fiercely fought game.
The Lawrence Njovu-tutored team got a try by Ackim Dick and two penalties kicked in by Jubilee Chisenga to take this away win with the home side only sneaking in three penalties to move to 10 points.
In other matches, an ambitious Mufulira-A tormented Nchanga whom they bashed 84-3 to join a bunch of teams on 10 points.
Green Buffaloes added misery to newcomers Kabwe Health Rugby Club (KHRC) by wiring them a 134-0 score in their own backyard.
Elsewhere in Kabwe, Green Eagles beat Chibuluma 18-9 with NormanMwamba and Malama Chileshe scoring a try each with one converted by McLoud Chanda while Mwamba later scored a penalty and a drop goal with the visitors’ reply coming via two penalties.
Roan collected their first win of the season when they saw-off host Kansanshi 7-0 at KonkolaRugby Club in Chililabombwe with a lone try by Mulo Mulonda and converted by Chelelo Swaba.
The game involving KPF against Nkwazi was postponed as Nkwazi players were engaged in national duties.
