A SOLWEZI-based entrepreneur says change of mindset is critical in business as it is a sure way through which businesses can succeed.
Mathews Kapya observed that his business has been growing following his change of mindset because of business development workshops sponsored by Kansanshi Mining Plc and facilitated by Fortune World Investments (FWI).
He said before changing his mindset, he used to scold potential customers at his shop when they touched displayed goods, and only asked for prices without buying.
“The business workshop helped me a lot because I didn’t know how to welcome customers. When customers came to my shop and touched my goods without buying them, I used to rebuke them.
“Now I know how to handle customers, I’ve changed my mindset, and it is helping me because sometimes you would think what you are doing is good when it is not and you can’t go beyond what you are doing,” he notes.
Mr Kapya said his poor business management skills changed overnight soon after attending the workshops.
Mr Kapya urged Kansanshi Mining Plc to continue collaborating with Fortune World Investments with the spirit of sponsoring business workshops and empowering people with knowledge.
FWI Managing Director Mukumbi Kafuta urged Mr Kapya to keep records of business transactions for accountability and business growth.
