A MAN of Mafinga has been left with protruding intestines after his enraged wife allegedly stabbed him following a fight.
Muchinga police chief Chola Katanga said Elizabeth Kafunda, 23, of Thendele village unlawfully wounded her husband Obrey Kalunga with a knife.
Mr Katanga said the victim who was in a critical condition sustained a deep cut in the stomach and was left with protruding intestines.
He said this happened at the weekend.
“We received a report in which a woman of Thendele village hacked her husband with a knife .The victim is in a critical condition and nursing wounds at the hospital,” he said.
Mr Katanga said the suspect had been arrested and that the knife used in the act had been recovered.
Meanwhile, police in Nakonde have launched a manhunt for people who whole stole a blue unregistered Toyota valued at K 22,000.
Mr Katanga said the vehicle was stolen by unknown men after the owner packed it outside a nightclub.
“We are investigating a matter in which unknown persons have stolen a vehicle belonging to Musa Njelenje, 31, of Mukoma extension in Nakonde. No arrests have been made yet,” he said.
Meanwhile, unknown people have stolen 20 boxes of anti-malaria drugs from Chavuma District Hospital of North-Western Province.
Chavuma District Commissioner Benjamin Mufunga said the boxes containing coartem were stolen on Thursday last week.
He said that the drugs were stolen from a drug store in the hospital and that the theft has put patients at risk.
“It is very disappointing that some people could steal the medicine that they know that it is meant for the hospital, while they are making money out of it our people are suffering,” he said.
