THE Minister of Transport and Communications Brian Mushimba has said that Government will soon follow up progress on Crown Air Cargo’s intentions to start operations in Zambia.
Crown Air Cargo is a South African company that early last year expressed interest to set up a cargo airline in Zambia.
Mr Mushimba said four months ago, the company was dealing with regulatory procedures in Zambia and South Africa.
He said in an interview that he would follow up the matter to know when the company would start operations.
“I will follow it up to find out how far they have gone with the preparations,” Mr Mushimba said.
He said the company would create 212 direct jobs and 2800 indirect jobs.
Mr Mushimba said the company would build the state-of-the-art cargo handling infrastructure at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
