NKANA will hold a one-week 2018 pre-season training camp in Zimbabwe starting next week where they will play two friendly games.
Nkana is one of Zambia’s four representatives in the CAF inter-club games and will play in the Confederations cup and is the only one of the quartet to be on bye in the preliminary round.
Team Manager Charles Chakatazya said in an interview in Kitwe that Nkana will travel with 26 players
“We are leaving for Zimbabwe on Monday but we will spend a one-day stopover in Livingstone on our way to Bulawayo,”Chakatazya said.
He said the first friendly on February 1 against FC Platinum.
“Our next friendly will be on February 5 either against Ferriovario of Mozambique or Zanaco who will also be in Zimbabwe,” he said.
Chakatazya added that another camp is planned for Mongu but that will only be decided by head coach Beston Chambsehi when he returns from Chipolopolo duty at 2018 CHAN in Morocco.
Nkana join the CAF games fray in the first round in March where they await winners between CR Belouizdad of Algeria and the latter’s Mali opponent.
Should Nkana win that tie, they will advance to the pre-group stage in April where they will face loser from the pre-group stage of the 2018 CAF Champions League.
