THE Economic and Equity Party president Chilufya Tayali has said Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili should not drag State House and the Patriotic Front (PF) in his arrest.
Mr Tayali said President Edgar Lungu and State House had nothing to do with his arrest and charge of fraud but it was him who reported the case complained on behalf of Zambians.
He said this during a Press briefing in Lusaka yesterday.
“This matter has nothing to do with State House, or PF as a party but it is the case for Zambians who do not want to see fraudulent people hiding in their fake companies to engage in corruption,” Mr Tayali said.
He said the report came from the mining companies where Mr Kambwili was bullying mine workers and suppliers to have a lion’s share of contracts to the mines using a fraudulent company.
Mr Tayali said Mr Kambwili decided to launder his wrongdoing with accusations of corruption against President Lungu.
He said Mr Kambwili should not bring in politics in the matter but focus on the forthcoming court case.
Mr Tayali said it was obvious Mr Kambwili wanted the PF to involve themselves in the matter so that he could have someone to blame but the PF officials have decided to stay away.
Mr Tayali said if Mr Kambwili had something substantive against anyone, he should report them in order to help fight corruption.
He also urged cadres to stop escorting their leaders whenever they were summoned by the police as this led to confusion.
