THE National Restoration Party (NAREP) has cautioned Zambians against entertaining former ministers Chishimba Kambwili and Harry Kalaba’s corruption claims.
NAREP president Elias Chipimo said Zambians should not take the word of the former ministers on corruption because they had not provided specific examples.
Mr Chipimo said Zambians should not make a mistake of voting for either of the two in 2021 because they could not substantiate their claims or separate themselves from the rest of Cabinet.
“These two not so long ago were part of this same Cabinet, so what has changed for them to call the rest corrupt?” he asked.
Mr Chipimo said if according to the two people Cabinet was corrupt, then the two former ministers were also corrupt.
He said it was clear that their selfish interests were not met while in Government and that was why they were now referring to President Edgar Lungu and Cabinet as being corrupt.
Mr Chipimo said the two former ministers should provide evidence of their corruption claims.
He cautioned Zambians against entertaining politicians that made the most noise but did not have any practical solutions to the country’s challenges.
Mr Chipimo also called on President Lungu to deal with all corrupt elements in the Government.
He said the President should investigate the corruption claims and inform the nation on the things he was doing to discourage corruption.
Mr Chipimo claimed that some ministers were involved in corruption and had formalised illegal processes so as to act without fear.
He said this at a Press briefing at his office and when he featured on a 5FM Radio programme yesterday.
