POWER Dynamos are dismayed by archrivals Nkana’s decision to register their midfielder Larry Bwalya without their consent for the CAF 2018 Confederations Cup.
Bwalya is part of the 28-man squad Nkana have registered with CAF for their continental campaign this season.
Power chairperson Bbenkele Haachitwe said in an interview in Kitwe yesterday that it was disappointing that Nkana could register Bwalya without respecting the club or the player’s contract.
“We have not given them permission to register Larry. We have plans for him. They know the rules of the game. This is not right,” Haachitwe said.
Bwalya, who is currently away on Chipolopolo duty at 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco, is one of five signings Nkana have added to their CAF 2018 Confederation Cup list.
“And they themselves have failed to release Walter Bwalya to go to Algeria,” Haachitwe said.
The midfielder had an amazing 2017 season at Power despite the Kitwe club finishing sixth where he scored six goals for the Arthur Davies side.
This is not the first time the two Kitwe sides are fighting over players who crisscross between the two sides with one incident seeing defender Christopher Munthali signing contracts for both sides.
Meanwhile, Haachitwe said assistant coach Kampamba Chintu is interim coach following the departure of Danny Kabwe to Lusaka Dynamos but that a comprehensive statement on the appointment of permanent head coach will be issued later.
