BE Helped and Help One Youth Initiative (BHHOYI) has appealed to civic leaders in Chililabombwe on the Copperbelt to deliver on their promises to the people.
BHHOYI president Samson Chisambo said he was saddened that most councillors had failed to improve the lives of people and their wards since they were elected into office.
Speaking in an interview yesterday, he said there was need for councillors to show their relevance and appreciation to the people that had entrusted them with power by delivering their promises.
Mr Chisambo, who is also a Chililabombwe-based youth activist, said councillors must work for the people or they would be showed the exit in the next elections.
He said Government was working tirelessly to take development to all parts of the county and they should participate in ensuring that they tabled their challenges so that when funds were available, such challenges could be addressed.
“But it doesn’t mean that they always cry to Government. They can also lobby for funds from other organisations to work on the challenges they have, so they should not give the excuse that Government is not giving them funds,” he said.
