By REBECCA MUSHOTA –
SOUTH Korean President Moon Jae-in has invited President Edgar Lungu to South Korea for a State visit that will strengthen ties between that country and Zambia.
President Moon said that he valued the relationship between South Korea and Zambia and it was important to deepen the economic cooperation.
The president of South Korea said this when Zambia’s Ambassador to South Korea Wylbur Simuusa presented his credentials to Mr Moon recently.
This is according to a statement issued by the Zambian Embassy in South Korea.
“The South Korean president also expressed happiness at the fact that Zambia supports the peace initiatives by the Republic of Korea for a nuclear-free Korean peninsula,” the statement said.
Mr Moon said a visit by President Lungu would strengthen ties between Zambia and South Korea.
Mr Simuusa said that reciprocal visits by President Lungu and President Moon would advance bilateral relations between the two countries.
He said it was President Lungu’s desire that bilateral relations between the two countries were enhanced for the benefit of the people of the two nations.
Mr Simuusa takes over as ambassador to South Korea following the recall of his predecessor Mumba Kapumpa.
He arrived in South Korea on October 31 last year.
Mr Kapumpa was the first ambassador to South Korea. encroachment encroachment
